Combat Arms

The function of combat arms unit is to kill or train others to kill the enemy in foreign lands. Combat arms unit include;

• Combat: Deploying military units to defeat the enemey and achieve wartime objectives. This includes military campaigning, force projection, offensive and defensive operations, reconnaissance, and special operations.

• Generating foreign forces: This involves demobilizing adversarial forces and or raising new ones. This inclues recruiting, training, equipping and fielding new security forces and establishing the institutions that oversee them

Combat Services

The expeditionary organizations that provide operational assistance to combat arms units. The combat services units provide opeational support to the combat arms units, allowing them to engage the enemy more effectively, but they do not directly engage the enemy themselves unless in self-defense.

• Operational coordination: Establishing and managing command, control and communication operations in hostile environments.

• Intelligence collection, analysis and risk assessment: Gathering information and developing threat analysis.

• Information warfare: Panning and disseminating propaganda and other psychological actions to influence the opinions, emotions, attitudes and behaviours of foreign groups.

• Cyber-warfare: Hacking to conduct deceptions espionages or sabotages.

Combat Services Support

This unit provide logistical and administrative suppot to Combat Arms and Combat Service Units, thereby supplying and sustaining the force. Like Combat Service Units, Combat Service Support components are not expected to engage the enemy unless in self-defense. this category includes quartermaster, ordnance, transportation, adjutant general, finance and medical services corps. The chief distinction between Combat Services and Combat Services Support is that the former offers operational support while the latter offers logistical and administrative support to Combat Arms units.

• Equipping and supplying soldiers and civilians in the field with food, water, ammunitions, equipments, etc.

• Providing services that promote, improve, conserve or restore the mental or physical well-being of personnel.

• Maintaining equipment such as vehicles, generators, buildings, etc.

• Transporting units, personnel, equipment and supplies.

• Managing human ressources.

• Construction military bases and infrastructure.
